So often we become aware of what others say and do.If we would listen and watch ourself as well,we will also see and hear things contrary to God's word.I myself have been checked by the Holy Spirit many times and was glad I listened to His voice. As I think on this,I remember a time when my children were very young.Often the children and I would be on our way home through this valley where we lived.I look down and see the gas gauge was low,I would ask the kids to pray with me that God would help us get home as there were no gas stations for fifteen or twenty miles.
My mother had come to stay with us for two or three weeks, while a cousin was in a revival close to where we lived. She would drive back and forth through the valley to the little church each night. This particular day mother had taken my youngest son with her.As they rode along he became very restless and kept repeating" maw maw ,maw maw my mommy" She finally quieted him enough to find he was concerned that she might not have enough gas in her car.He said "Maw maw when my mommy don't have enough gas we pray and God helps us to get home."So they prayed and he sat up like a little man content that all was well in his world. It was in God's hands now.
Little had I realized that I was instilling faith into my children.Where ever we go whether we are with our friends or the family we do instill our trust, doubt or fears into their lives. And when they are faced with problems they will either draw upon that faith and stand tall or if they have learned doubt and fears they crumble an fall.
